Plaiden Maiden

WEARING:

Plaid Shirt- GAP; SAN DIEGO
Pants- ZARA MAN; HONG KONG
Green suede brogue shoes - ZARA MAN; SAN FRANCISCO

I wouldn't exactly say I loved plaid from the moment I saw it. It always reminded me of pajama print and I have always hated pajama prints. Always. But as time transgressed and I became more accepting to pajama print, and at the same time love for colours, I went a quest to find the perfect, vibrant and different plaid shirt.

And dear friends, I have found it. I scored this glory on SALE at GAP in an outlet in downtown San Diego. The colours on it are just fabulous and I don't think I've ever had the compelling urge to buy a piece of clothing as much as I did for this shirt. So beautiful!

Also how I hope you are all aware of the flooding happening in New South Wales at the moment, it got to the point where school was cancelled. Really hoping everyone is staying safe and responsible with the overflow of water. On Thursday everyone was basically sent home due to the under staffing at my high school.. but being a boarder I had to sit in a class room and write essays for 5 hours.

Which led to photos like this being taken on my friend's MacBook:

Ignoring my obvious beauty, how AWESOME are these green shoes? $30 from ZARA. Yeah, I know. THIRTY. THREE, ZERO. I basically screamed in delight when I saw these. If anything I bought in America these would have to be the most chic.

I was watching The Devil Wears Prada last night on television and the idea of brown on green was presented in a scene where Miranda (Meryl Streep) rocks it like a diva, and I thought to myself "hey! Why don't I try that? You only live once!"

See how dedicated I am to blogging now? I am making the most of my Saturday afternoons and hoisting my tripod and 50mm (I broke my 35mm in America *cry*) out to take many inane photos of myself... which is awkward for the new neighbours who moved in next door. The walked out on me doing it today. Sometimes I wonder why I was ever placed onto this earth.

Dream a Little Dream of Me.

Funky green and red collared sweater - Thrifted
Sunnies - Urban Outfitters
Yellow Pants - Hong Kong, Sha Tin markets
Boat Shoes- Polo Ralph Lauren - Las Americas Outlet, San Diego
Marine Badge - Midway battle-ship gift shop; San Diego
Cambridge Satchel - Stanley markets - Hong Kong

The only reason my blog hasn't been going anywhere nor has my cyber presence is probably (most likely) due to the fact I've been on hiatus for well, three months? I have disappeared, wandered the lands of California, Arizona and Nevada and have not been able to conjour up the strength to put finger to keyboard and type away.

I've been told yellow only looks good on hot dogs by most of my friends but seriously, on a rainy ass day and everything is pretty much grey chic you really need some colour. Thats why I opt for such vibrance. I was going to pair this outfit with a navy poncho, but that was too much overkill for a trip into the city.

I've purchased quite a few things whilst gallivanting here and there, many to be featured soon on this blog (as I have made it a mission in life to blog quite frequently now after 2011 being a year of pithy attempts)and I will probably be more involved in the world as well, keeping on top of my studies and blogging whilst doing a plethora of other things.

Has anyone started watching Revenge yet? It is the perfect show. I am a more boy-ish, more bitchy version of Emily Thorne. It is such a good show to snuggle up to and watch considering summer is now over in Australia. So glad that autumn is here. It totally means its my birthday soon and that I'm able to wear nicer clothes than just looking like a homeless man for 3 months as you do in Summer.

PS: WATCH THIS VIDEO. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Risky Red

Risky Red Fisherman Crew - RVCA
Pants - ZARA
Electric Blue Suede "Eska" shoe - Ted Baker

Hope all you readers had a fantastic holiday season, which consisted of lots and lots and lots of presents, food, family, laughter and love. Christmas this year for me was a little bit of a let down, I didn't really feel as though it was the end of the year / christmas until the actual day! Never the less, it's still great to enjoy the company of friends and family and just eat until you (literally) pass out.

Taking advantage of people and sales as I usually do, I scored myself some bargains from the annual boxing day hunts. Seriously though, the whole of Sydney city on Boxing Day was like a makeshift Asia with people everywhere and everybody barging into one another trying to hoard as much golden treasures as they can find.

How amazing is this Risky Red RVCA fisherman crew from General Pants? I haven't even stepped foot into a General Pants in over a year, but I decided to take a look and I found this beauty down from $100 to $50! It was too good of a bargain not to steal. Bright, vivid reds are one of my favourite colours and its so soft just... perfect.

Living in a technological age and what have you, I'm assuming most of you have heard the scary as all hell prophecy that the world ends in 2012. I'm unsure of what will actually happen but I'm honestly hoping to the good lord up there that it doesn't. Life is too grande. This year has been honestly the most awesome year ever, and to top it off I met the incredible, super, far out, fantastic and unreal CORY MONTEITH from Glee. It's hard to believe he's 29... but I'm still a little awestruck that he was so kind, nice, hospitable and just overall fun. (He gave me a hug)

Anyway, this year has been actually amazing and thank you to al lyouu readers who have beared with my shitty/lack of posting this whole year. So much has been happening and I've actually got ALOT on my plate so 2012 will be a year which I try managing it all.

And I'm doing stocktaking at STYLETEMPEST (Because there's still a plethora of stock left online and when the listing runs out I'm going to sell the rest at Rozelle/Bondi/Glebe markets in conjunction with upcoming vintage label "LIKE A FOX") so if you wish to purchase something do it soon with the code XMASNYE and receive 20% off! (which is equivalent to not paying shipping in Australia)

Thank you all once again and I hope your New Years Eve celebrations bring you nothing but joy, glitter, sparkles and little gremlins. (be careful of the mouth herpes though)
