Fashion Weekend 2012

Wearing:
Floral Shirt - 21men, Leather shoulder and back coat - ASOS, Fisherman Pants - Vintage, Bucket Bag - Vintage Polo Ralph Lauren, Moustache Socks - Urban Outfitters, Rainbow patent leather shoes - Dr Martens,

Despite the fact I am tempted immensely to start this post with another long winded metaphorical anecdote about how enlightened I feel after having attended Fashion Weekend, I won't. Because even though it was a really great experience I got to spend it with friends I haven't seen for over 8 months and that's honestly the best part of everything. (Cue the cheesy music and close up shots of my face with the beach as the background)

Disregarding all that, Fashion Weekend was a huge hit for me. I attended with Lizzie Le of Lolizzie and two girls named Nina and Lucy. We spent the day browsing through the booths, hunting and attending a KORA ORGANICS masterclass hosted by none other than Miranda Kerr's mum - which made everything ten times more exciting.

Lizzie's gorgeous two toned purse.

Two of my street style victims. Both wearing awesome outwear.

That is Therese Kerr, Miranda Kerr's mum. She's so lovely. She markets her products of KORA so effectively. She actually wants to help and share her expertise with her clients - not just sell them everything they've produced. The masterclass/tutorial she gave as actually super duper helpful and amazing. Loved it. (Plus everything smells nice! Go check it out! KORA ORGANICS)

Fashion Weekend Runway 2012

You know that feeling you had as a child when you first walked into a toy shop and just couldn't stop looking at everything around you - as if you were in a haven of everything you needed for the rest of your life? Thats how I felt at SHOP Till you Drop's 2012 Fashion weekend.

The whole event was set out in booths of designers with hoarders here and everywhere scallopping around for everything on sale. I enjoyed just browsing through everything and the runway. Oh god the runway. I loved the runway. Designers that showed included White Suede, Bec & Bridge, Ginger & Smart, Nicola Finetti, Miss Unkon, Rachel Gilbert, Camilla, Jets, Kirrily Johnston and Talulah. I'll post all the pieces that caught my eye in this post and a more personal and street-style chic based post in a few days time.

In the meantime, if you don't want the little man inside your internet connection to have a heart attack, I suggest you stop the loading of this page. Heavy photo spam.

White Suede

Bec & Bridge

Probably the highlight of the Bec & Bridge show was this blazer. So minimalist chic but the gold tipped collar and the shape really sold it for me.

Ginger & Smart

Nicola Finetti

Miss Unkon

Rachel Gilbert

Camilla

Jets

Talulah

(I know what you're all thinking; "BUT EUGENE! I THOUGHT YOU HAD A SEETHING HATRED FOR TASSLES?!" Yes, I'm not the biggest fan but Talulah has shown me it's ways. This piece actually made the model look like she was a drop from the sun and every time she moved it was like the fragments of sunbeams hitting everything. It was awesome.)

Mind you all, Talulah was the only label that got a cohesive "oooh" from everybody in the audience when their show just began to come on to close the show. A well deserving ooh indeed. Everything they have to offer is just sublime.

The Bathrobe Thief

Wearing: Polka Dot Short Sleeved Shirt / Black Friday - Dangerfield, Forest Green Pants - ZARA, Oriental Bathrobe - Some random Japanese hotel, Dr Martens LEX shoe - Dr Martens

Hey Hey! What's been up cyber world? . I've been cursed recently by the God's above and was denied the priveledge of attending any of the MBFWA shows or dates due to the exams I had to tackle... It's like a higher power and the heads of faculties teamed up to schedule all my exams in the week where BRYANBOY, SusieBubble, K is for Kani and a whole bunch of other bloggers were in town. Forever cursed.

Nonetheless, you win some you lose some and in winning, I have no become a blogger/contributer with #Neighborhoodies!  They're a blog that focusses on style and fashion and I was lucky enough to have my application acccepted by them. Go and visit them! You'll probably find a tonne of bloggers with awesome style that you never knew existed before. Due to this I will most likely be blogging more than once per week now and on a more frequent basis. Lots of new and exciting things to come.

Anyway, how awesome is this bathrobe? I accidently packed it into my suitcase when I was in Japan 2 years ago and it recently re-emerged. I was wearing it as a jacket for a while (Ie: tucked into pants/what not) and it's quite a versatile item.

These Dr Marten's were a must purchase when I was trawling through the internet about a month ago trying to find some new pieces for Winter. I found these shoes and went holy cow, It's like I'm an evil witch from the 60s. I have to have them. Two weeks later they arrived on my doorstep in all their rainbow patent leather glory. (Whenever I walk I can't help but look at my feet which is probably why I keep tripping over.)

Anyone also notice that it's SHOP Till You Drop's Fashion weekend coming up? If you're in on the gig I'll be there and if you're a reader be sure to say hello. I'm hella pumped for it. I'll be there around 12pm so if any of you want to say hello or pop by I'll have my camera... so dress for the occasion and I'll (as they say in the industry) "blog you."
